Event generation

An event occurs when OpenEdge receives notification of an action. An action can be user-driven, such as a mouse click, or some other external event, such as the completion of an AppServer procedure. OpenEdge also creates events as a result of an APPLY statement, and in response to an external event; for example, pressing the TAB key causes LEAVE and ENTRY events to be created.
